Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes Explained (E15, E24, E25, E09 & More)
Bosch doesn't do plain English β it gives you an E-code and stops. Here's what the common ones actually mean, what's safe to try, and what needs a technician. A One Dishwasher Repair WA services Bosch dishwashers across Washington: (253) 549-3002.
E15 β Water in the Base (Leak Detected)
What it means: The flood sensor in the base pan detected water. The dishwasher shut itself down to prevent flooding.
Try this: You can clear it temporarily by carefully tilting the unit forward ~45Β° to drain the base tray (towels ready, power off). The code will clear.
The catch: The water came from somewhere β a sump seal, hose clamp, or inlet hose. It WILL come back until the leak is fixed. This is our #1 Bosch call statewide.
E24 β Drain Error
What it means: The dishwasher can't drain. Try this: Clean the filter assembly, check the drain hose for kinks, verify the high loop under the sink, and make sure the garbage disposal knockout plug was removed (if the disposal is new). More detail in our dishwasher not draining guide.
E25 β Drain Pump Blocked
What it means: The drain pump impeller is jammed β usually glass, a seed, or debris. Try this: With power OFF, remove the filter and pop off the white plastic pump cover in the sump; clear any debris and re-seat the cover. If E25 persists, the pump itself may be dead.
E09 β Heating Fault
What it means: The heating circuit failed β dishes won't dry and sanitize cycles won't complete. Try this: Nothing DIY-friendly here. The heat pump assembly or its wiring needs testing with a multimeter. This is a parts job β call us.
E22 β Filter Blocked
What it means: Debris in the sump filter. Try this: Remove and clean the filter system (coarse + fine + microfilter). Easiest fix on this list β our filter cleaning guide walks you through it.
E01 / E02 β Power Module Fault
What it means: Electrical fault in the power/control module. Try this: Hard reset (breaker off 5 minutes). If it returns, the board needs professional diagnosis.
